A WALK ON THE SALÈVE FLANKS - PART VI

The weather here is still miserable. Since a few weeks, it is foggy, grey, rainy and cold...

This yucky weather is starting to have a negative effect on my mood. I really miss the sunshine, the bright spring light, the joyful April colors and the warm temperatures!

I mean, last year, at the same time, it was over 20° C and sunny! Can you believe that?!?

In order, to cheer up, here are some pictures (click on the pictures to enlarge) I took while walking on the Salève flanks (Bossey & Collonges-Sous-Salève), before the muck and "mushy peas (understand thick fog)" arrived...

  5. Wow what a beautiful area, and you take wonderful photos as well. This should help improve my mood :-) I'm actually in Provence right now with my parents who are visiting and it's been raining since we got here!!

  6. Lovely view from your walk.

That one picture showed rows of greenhouses ... at the coast, where we used to live, there are rows and rows ... acres of greenhouses!

Our weather has been very variable! Today there is snow on the ground and it is supposed to go to -11C tonight. But spring will come ... eventually.

  7. Such beautiful country there! We live in southern Georgia (U.S.) and while there are beautiful flowers and a lovely river (the Chattahoochee) -- we are lacking in mountains. Prior to moving here, we lived at the base of Mt. Rainier in Washington. My husband climbed it twice and we went on a packing trip from Mt. St. Helen to Mt. Rainier. We miss the views!

Thank you for sending Pumpkin's picture in to the Cutest Pet Photo Contest! Winner to be announced May 15, 2008!

    Blessings!

  9. Ah le Salève, la promenade rituelle des écoles genevoise, ma promenade préférée aussi. A Zürich, on a Utliberg, mais franchement, cela n'a pas la même gueule quand même.

  10. Don't worry Rosa, it will be spring someday... maybe sooner as you think;) I love the first picture, when I see such kind of little river I always want to put some fingers in it to feel the temperature :-)

I wish you a nice and warm WE!

  13. What beautiful landscapes you have. Sigh. Yes! We are so behind here also!! Although, last year, everything was blooming and we had a deep freeze and just about killed everything. I think everything is staying in a little longer this year!! Happy weekend!! xo

  18. What lovely views! Weatherwise it is the same here, or probably colder. The trees have not yet even got their leaves... :( Well, it WILL get warmer hopefully sooner than later! :)
