Bagels ("Beygl" in Yiddish) are wonderful, dense and chewy boiled breads that are delicious when you make sandwiches with them...
There is nothing quite comparable to those bread rings, especially if they are accompanied by the best Bündner dry meat (see link) and cheese!
In case you'd like to learn more about "Bagels", I recommend you to have a look here and here (my recipe and article).
If you've never baked you own "Bagel" breads, then you'd better remedy to that situation as there is nothing quite like a fresh homemade "Bagel"!
ohhhhhh....I will have to try your recipe. I can never quite get the tops of my bagels to looks as smooth as yours! What's the secret?
ReplyDeleteBAKE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO: Thanks for your visit and kind comment! I don't know why my tops are smoother, but I have the impression that it is because my bagels are made without a starter... If you ever make my recips, please, tell me how you found it!
J'aime beaucoup ton blog.
ReplyDeleteI like how you've sprinkiled sunflowere seeds on top of the bagels. They look delicious!
ReplyDeleteI know I'm a little late to comment on WCB, but the vidoe of Maruschka is hilarious! Love her sound effects!
ils sont superbes!! biiises micky
ReplyDeleteSo delicious with cream cheese and smoked salmon ! :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Rosa, I put a link to your blog in my Links because your Yummy Yum's are really Yummy looking! Plus, I have never seen anyone make their own Graham Cracker Cookies! That is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Bagels!! Especially with cream cheese, either just cream cheese or cream cheese with smoked salmon and maybe some capers. Yum! I've never tried making my own, but you are definitely inspiring me to do so. Yours look wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I've eaten a bagel. I could go for one of yours right about now though!
ReplyDeleteP.S. About the meme, I'm sorry, but I don't drink wine and never have. :(
I hope you understand. :)
I think it's awesome that you can make your own bagels. I only know how to go to the store and buy them. ;-)
ReplyDeletePaz
ReplyDeletethese look absolutely fantastic!!! love the photos.
ReplyDeleteRAMONA: Thanks for the kind comments! You are welcome to comment at any time, Ramona... Yes, Maruschka is a little clown!
MICKYMATH: Merci!!! Bises...
LIPUTU: Yes, with salmon and cream cheese they'd be delicious!...
LANNAE: Thanks for the very kind comment and for passing by! I'm very happy to hear that you like my site and I thank you for adding me to your list of favorite blogs!!!...
CHRISTINE: Thanks for your visit and nice comment, Christine! Yes, bagels are pretty much delicious with any savory filling...
SUSAN: Thanks for you comment, Susan! You should try this recipe... Regarding the meme, there's no problem! I can understand your reasons.
PAZ: Thanks, Paz! You know, it's not all that complicated! You should try baking a batch at home, nothing quite compares to homemade bread... Here, we don't have any store selling them, so I have to make my own.
BEAH: Je ne peux que t'encourager! Merci pour ta visite...
LINDA: Thanks for your kind comment and visit! I'm very happy to hear that you like my pictures...
ReplyDeletemy god woman!!! you made bagels and didnt call me??? i loooooove bagels. i tried my hand at them one time only so far....and the bagels stuck to my hands! i couldnt get the little suckers in the pot to boil for anything. i might have to come watch you. i'll bring the fresh squeezed oj and fresh veggie cream cheese. deal? ;)
