WEEKEND CAT BLOGGING #248

This week, Weekend Cat Blogging #248 is hosted by Meowza at "iMeowza" (USA)...

To submit your kitty picture(s), you can either leave a message in her blog's comment section (with your permalinks) or contact her via e-mail without forgetting to give all the needed information.

Fridolin has not been feeling well lately.
Everytime he eats, he can't hold down his food (wet & dry). Apart from that he seems fine, maybe a little calm after each episode.
It is not the first time he has this. The last time it happened (October), it went away.

Does anyone know what it could be?
I don't know if I should call the veterinary...

  1. Rosa,
I am terribly sorry. I remember when he was ill last year. How long does this happen? The reason I ask is that my older dog had the same symptom like Fridolin, I was ready to take him to the Vet the third day, But It was already too late. He passed away. I waited too long, and I really regret it until now. I couldn't forgive myself. Maybe he really need to see the Vet, just to make sure that everything is all right. I hope he is getting better soon.
    all the best,
    elra

  2. I would probably take him to the vet, or at least call and see if they can give you some advice over the phone. Might be stress over something, or simply old age... =(

  3. Feel better soon, Fridolin. I would have to get a professional opinion if only for my own peace of mind. Let us hear.

  6. Cats vomit very easily. This may be linked to the type of food, an allergy or intolerance, inflammation of the stomach, with foreign bodies in the stomach, such as grass, hair or plastic, but also stress related or simply happen only as a protest against strangers, new furniture, or similar changes. In many cases the cause remains unclear.

Even healthy cats vomit from time to time to rid the stomach of undigested feed components, such as hair, too. A clear indication isf regurgitated hair balls in the flat. Do you offer cat grass ?

kind regards and best wishes, Robert

  7. Based on my experiences with my late luvabug kitty, Data, it sounds like he might be having some gastrointestinal issues (Data had IBD but vomiting could also indicate other gastro issues) which do require a trip to the vet especially if the vomiting has been going on for more than a few days. Good luck with your kitty...I hope he feels better soon.

  8. Sorry to hear this Rosa and hope that it's nothing but please take him to a vet. It still hurts when I think of our cat who passed away last summer.

  10. The beautiful Darling! Yes, take him to the vet, Rosa. I don't know what it could be but you should probably ask for a blood test for him (I get my kitties tested if we can't figure out what's wrong). Get better soon, Fridolin.

  14. I hope your sweet feline friend starts feeling better soon, Rosa. I agree with the other commenters and think you should take him to the vet just to be on the safe side. With his age and the fact that it has happened before... well, it might be something that needs medication or a special kind of food.

    Blessings,
    Lacy

Bisous
