Finally, I'm back with the answer to this quiz. I bet that you were all wondering what this "snack" could possibly be/represent!
Well, some of you got close to finding out, but nobody actually gave me the right answer...
Only three foodies discovered what the spread was (Vanessa at "Confituremaison", Natalia at "Du Chant Plein Les Casseroles..." and Rosa at "Living As Rosa"), but none of you knew what kind of cracker I used.
Before telling you what it is, I'd like to mention that since I'm a little "bizarre", I have certain strange food tastes that might shock or intrigue some of you foodies, because this nosh isn't quite what most people would consider as "normal". It's one of my dirty little food secrets/manias...
So, the answer is: MATZAH SHEET (see infos) smothered with some yummy HOT MALAYSIAN CHILLI SAUCE (which I find very mild) by Yeo's (see link)!!!
Now you'll be fixed on my mental health and queer taste for alien food. But, let me tell you, this collation is wonderful if you love to spice up your eating disorders!!!
And what about you, what are the things you like to eat, but which you'd prefer to keep hidden? What do you think of my penchant for such weird associations?...
Funny that this Malaysian chilli sauce seems mild to you !! But the association of the sauce and the matzah sheet (I know that but I didn't recognize it !) must be interesting... But it doesn't seem strange at all...unless you did it in hot chocolate or in your coffee !!

NATALIA: I know, but I really find it mellow! When I bought it I thought that it would be strong, but when I tasted it, I thought "so what?!". I find that the matzah goes well with it. It's definitely a good association (the same goes with horseraddish sauce/cream). No, I didn't dip it in anything sweet, but who knows? It might come soon...

I think that the chili sauce on matzah sounds terrific. Regarding weird food combos, my mom used to eat peanut butter, mayo and dill pickle sandwiches and I love them too!

ReplyDeleteMy weird thing... I love eating (very) salty food, so much that when I open a bag of potato chips, I would just take out all those big whole pieces of chips out, just digging those tids and bites and salt on the bottom :D
