GOURMET IS DEAD...

Sad news on the foodie front.
After 69 years of loyal services, the irreplacable Gourmet Magazine is scheduled to close!
I'm so disappointed by Condé Nast's decision.
This makes me so sour and gloomy..........

schade, aber so ist der Lauf der Zeiten. Neue food-magazines werden die Lücke ausfüllen.

I'm heartbroken about this--this is far and away my favorite food magazine. What will gourmet-readers do now?! :(

GLORIA: Yes :-(((! Condé Nast decided to kill Gourmet and keep Bon Appétit.... Although I love Bon Appétit, it would have been less sad if they chose Gourmet over BA!

I am so upset! I just renewed my subscription and am paid until August 2010!

I'm sad too. It's just such a hard time for print media right now that they have to make cuts. (Not the fault of the subscribers, it's the advertisers that are falling off!) Now where are we going to go for beautiful food porn??

I nearly cried when I read about it the other day. Such a well-done magazine- and I have had a subscription to it forever! I always wondered how they could renew at such low rates. Turns out they couldn't.

Gourmet was the cooking magazine that inspired me to explore the field of cooking in the early 90's.

Me, too. I keep hoping it's a bad "trick or treat'' gag. But alas, it's merely a bad decision made solely based on finances. Sigh.
