Being Swiss, it is difficult not to like cheese. I have eaten that delicacy since a very early age and never fell out of love with it. Cheese has always been part of my life and we will never sever...
Our country has many wonderful cheeses and we are also very lucky to find great foreign specialities (French, Spanish, Italian & English) in our stores or at our local cheese dealer. For a cheese lover like me, it's paradise (unless you look at the - high - prices, that is).
I mean, is there anything better than quality cheese with homemade bread and a bottle of good wine?!
I adore cheese - in fact, all kinds but especially the ones that stink! In Germany, not so many people are crazy about cheese and they tend to like the milder ones. I'd never heard of any of these but they look fantastic. It's true what you say about the high price tag though - you can spend €60 without even trying! Bon WE!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you; cheeses are delightfull.
ReplyDeleteIl you want to discover new ones, althouh you will not find them in Swiss, I suggest you to visit;

where you will find plenty of ideas
I'd have a problem if I lived in Switzerland with all those fabulous cheese varieties. I think I'd gain 10 pounds a year.
ReplyDeleteOur entire family love cheese as well. I can not imagine my fridge and my life without it.
ReplyDeleteSaint Nectaire is our all-time favorite!
ReplyDeleteoooohhhh yesss!!! cheeesseee!! i would love to try the yes ye sooo true! quality cheese with homemade bread and a bottle of good wine is just more than perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteD and I love our cheeses too and always are sure to visit the best cheese shops when we are in Vancouver. Most Canadians seem to stick with cheddar and poor quality cheddar at that, but more and more we're seeing some other, wonderful cheeses appear. You're right, a meal of fresh bread, cheese and wine .... mmmmmm.

ReplyDeleteI too love cheese. Croatia is famous many different kinds of cheese, the most famous being Paski sir, a hard, distinctively flavored sheep milk cheese. But my favorite is a nice homemade smoked cheese with a slice of prosciutto :)Although, that Maroille cheese looks absolutely fabulous.

ReplyDeleteYou are so right about cheese. Since I live in Holland we also have an abundancy of various cheeses. Not only Dutch but from around europe (well in a good cheesestore that is) and I love almost all of them. It's just unfortunate that my husband does not like cheese at all...
ReplyDeleteI totally agree some great cheese, homemade bread still warm and a glass of red wine and I'm set... food fit for royalty I believe!

Je sui aussi fan de fromage, il faut dire que j'ai été élevée avec des biberons de roquefort coupé à l'eau (je ne supportait aucun lait !) depuis le lait passe très bien et je reste trsè grande amatrice d efromage !

ReplyDeleteWhat would life be without cheese?! We are so lucky to live in the cheese paradise!
ReplyDeleteI am probably the one weird one among a few who is not "fond" of cheese, except pepper jack, mascarpone & mozarella & a very few others. Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteCheese is great. You can eat it alone and enjoy every bite and you can cook with it as it gets lost in the other ingredients, yet gives them delicious flavor.
ReplyDeleteah le fromage! c'est juste trop bon! tu me donnes envie d'en manger, la tout de suite!
ReplyDeleteoh they look so beautiful!!! We only find a couple of hard cheese imported from your country :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing us to some Swiss cheese which are new to me. I would like to try them one day.
ReplyDeleteJe suis une fanatique du fromage aussi ! On a de petits fromages délicieux, en Provence ...
ReplyDeleteBises
